Hannah Ewell

Hannah Ewell is a Bay Area-based music educator and professional harpist. She has taught harp and piano to students of all ages and skill levels, and has extensive experience leading rhythm classes for young children. Hannah also teaches beginner percussion—including bongos, castanets, drum set, maracas, and xylophone—through an engaging and rhythm-centered approach.
She has performed in both orchestras and bands as a harpist and assistant percussionist, and is passionate about making music accessible, collaborative, and fun. Hannah believes that rhythm is the foundation of every instrument and genre, and she brings this philosophy into all of her teaching.
She holds a degree in music and has worked as a private instructor, classroom music teacher, and ensemble coach. She currently teaches lessons and classes throughout the San Jose area and performs regularly as a harpist for events and ensembles. She is also experimenting with using the harp as a percussive instrument, exploring new ways to expand its expressive range and rhythmic possibilities.
