Lexington Elementary (TK-2) – Spring 2024

Day/Time: Thursdays from 2:40 to 3:25 PM

Ages: TK-2

Schedule: 13 Classes (1/18-5/30): Jan 18, 25 Feb 8, 29, March 14, 21 (teacher out), 28, April 4, 18, 25 May 2, 9, 23*, 30* (The price includes a $25 facility/processing fee.)

* NOTE: Because of early release day on May 23, class will be held from 12:30 to 1:15 PM.

* May 30 is a make-up day for March 21. (Nile’s Flynn was sick on March 21.)

Location: At the foot of the steps of the Lower Field (In the event of inclement weather, class will be held either in the multipurpose room or another classroom. This decision will be made by the school administration on a case by case basis.)

Instructor: Niles Flynn

Performance: An informal performance will be held on the last day of class, May 30 from 2:40 to 3:25 PM. Parents, friends, family, students, and teachers are invited to view a regular class and celebrate musical development of the Lexington Bucketeers.

Students are encouraged to wear a Bucketeers tee shirt to each class and these are available on the website for $15. If your child already has one from a previous session, it’s not necessary to buy another.

Sibling Discount Code: SIB15 (Good for one session at a time. Only use one time for one set of siblings. Does not include siblings from past sessions.

Prorated Discount—Apply one of the following codes for planned absences such as vacations. (Unplanned vacations and illness do not apply.)
One missed class = pro1
Two missed classes = pro2
Three missed classes = pro3

In the case of force majeure (such as schools closing/moving to virtual learning because of the pandemic), weekly instruction will be offered in the form of YouTube videos or Zoom classes.

Instructor

Niles Flynn

Niles Flynn graduated Cum Laude from San Jose State University, College of Music and Dance with a degree in Music Education and Percussion Performance. He has been a fellow at the Colorado College Summer Music Festival for two consecutive years alongside John Kinzie and Aiyun Huang. Niles has work with many great music educators: Jake Nissly (San Francisco Symphony), Galen Lemmon (Symphony San Jose), and Bryce Leafman (San Francisco Symphony). Niles has performed regularly with many groups around the Bay Area such as Cambrian Symphony, Children’s Music Theatre, Blue Devils Entertainment, Mission Chamber Orchestra, Master Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra, and many others. Niles teaches privately and with percussion groups and after-school ensembles. Niles aims to continue to build a career performing and educating while inspiring those around him to seek out the beauty, truth, and joy in music.
